Petition - Shark Finning

Shark finning, is the process of cutting off a sharks fins and discarding the body at sea, usually for use in shark fin soup. Experts believe that between 38 and 100 MILLION sharks are killed every year for their fins. If this wasn't bad enough, when bearing in mind that some species of shark are among the most endangered animals on Earth, but more often than not, these sharks are ALIVE while this occurs. Since shark meat is not valuable, they are thrown back into the sea alive, where they are usually eaten or suffocate due to being unable to move naturally.
